Who We Are

Rainbow Warrior Roundup is Texas' annual gathering for LGBTQ MKP Initiated individuals. Each spring we gather for 4 nights and 3 days of transformational growth, healing, self expression, playfulness and community connection.

What to Expect

A quick look at the moments and experiences that make this gathering special.

Our Community

The Rainbow Warrior Gathering is an annual, mission-driven retreat for initiated GBTQ+ brothers—a space to connect, recharge, celebrate, and do meaningful work together. We gather just outside Houston, conveniently located near Houston Intercontinental Airport, for four days and three nights of connection, play, depth, and Lover energy. This is time set apart from everyday life—time to be fully yourself in community.

Small Groups

Throughout the Roundup you'll be placed in a small group that meets daily after our main circle. The small groups are an opportunity to get to know other participants in a deep and meaningful way. The groups help to ensure the safety of our container by providing a more direct and continuing level of support and fellowship during the gathering.

Mindfulness

Amongst other workshops, every morning offers an opportunity to practice Yogo or Mediation facilitated by one of our member participants. We also have daily recovery meetings for participants current in in 12 step recovery programs and anyone interested in attending for their first stie.

Workshops

Throughout the Roundup, participants are invited to offer to facilitate workshops and experiential activities as gifts to the community. Past workshops have included, Painting, Writing, Journalling, Tantra, Sound Bath, Hypnosis, Social Nudity, Improv, and more. Skip as many as you want and enjoy the richness this weekend has to offer. Workshop space is limited, so plan in advance.

Dance Party

Our Friday night Dance Party offers a unique opportunity for community members to boogie down and let loose inside our safe, sober environment. Based on the year's theme, participants are encouraged to bring a costume or create one onsite with materials provided by the community. Come be yourself, cut a nasty rug, and smile and dance with brothers you love.

No-Talent Talent Show

Ever wonder what the stage lights feel like? Are you looking for a non-judgmental space to try something you've never done before? Sign-up for the No-Talent Talent Show before the slots fill up. Open to all, whether you've never performed in your life or if you've been kicking it on the stage for decades. It features heart-felt, hilarious, and breath-taking performances of all kinds- vocal, dance, comedy, improv, experimental, and more.

LOMG: More than a Venue

Land of My Grandfathers is more than a venue—it is a living, breathing sanctuary that has held the work, the prayers, and the transformations of generations of MKP brothers. For many, this land is deeply familiar: a place where truths have been spoken aloud, where grief and joy have been witnessed, and where men have stepped more fully into who they are.

No. RWR is an independent entity and is not affiliated with ManKind Project. While all participants are members of the MKP community, the event is not sponsored, governed, or produced by the ManKind Project.

Why is initiation required to attend?

The gathering is built around a shared foundation of experience, language, and agreements that come from completing the New Warrior Training Adventure. This shared context helps create a safe, intentional, and mutually understood container for everyone present.

I'm not initiated yet—can I attend?

Not at this time. Attendance is limited to initiated GBTQ+ brothers. Those interested in attending future Roundups are encouraged to explore MKP trainings as a first step.

Participants have regular access to bathrooms, showers, drinking water, and shared indoor spaces throughout the event. The setting is nature-based and rustic, while still offering essential comforts.

What should I expect overall?

Expect a blend of connection, personal work, ritual, play, and celebration within a GBTQ-affirming container. The gathering is designed to be intentional, supportive, and alive—held with care by the community.

Can you accommodate special dietary needs?

Yes. We make a sincere effort to accommodate common dietary needs and restrictions when advance notice is provided. During registration, you’ll have an opportunity to share relevant dietary information so our kitchen team can plan accordingly.

What is the food like?

Meals are all-natural, thoughtfully prepared, and cooked on site. Our kitchen team takes pride in offering gourmet, nourishing meals made with care and intention. Food is an important part of how we support the work, the play, and the community throughout the weekend.

What else should I bring?

Many participants enjoy bringing: Costumes or themed attire for special events, Outfits and accessories for the No-Talent Show, Creative or personal items that express the theme, and anything that helps you embody the spirit of the gathering.
